Wireless Backhaul for 4G LTE and WiMAX Networks
نویسنده
چکیده
Next generation 4G technologies such as LTE and WiMAX promise to deliver an entirely new range of mobile broadband services. The dramatic growth in data rates, driven by open standard smartphones running data hungry applications, will drive a significant increase in mobile backhaul requirements. Microwave radios have long been the global technology of choice for backhaul infrastructure. Millimeter-wave radios at 70/80 GHz are a natural complement to these systems for delivering higher capacities for data intensive 4G networks. This paper explores these how these products can be configured to build backhaul network topologies for next generation LTE and WiMAX networks.

New generation of wireless networks, LTE and WiMAX, supports many services which consume a lot of resources (such as VOIP, Video Conference, Digital Video, Multimedia streams and online Multi-player Games). Supporting multi-media services in wireless communication systems provide new resource allocation challenges. Because of high loads in downlink, efficient resource allocation is vital in dow...
متن کاملHOWRAN: An Hybrid Optical Wireless Radio Access Network for WiMAX Antennas Backhauling
In comparison to existing 3G or 3G+ wireless systems, fourth generation (4G), long-term evolution (LTE) or mobile Wimax are characterized by higher bit rates, highly fluctuant traffic matrices and higher antenna’s density. Current backhauling techniques federating radio antennas are not suited to these new characteristics. Several investigations are carried out for the design of new generation ...
متن کاملLTE and WiMAX: Comparison and Future Perspective
Two wireless technologies, WiMAX based on IEEE standards and LTE standardized by 3GPP, are two competing technologies, nevertheless, are very technically similar. This competition started with the advent of their pre-4G versions (802.16e for Mobile WiMAX and 3GPP release 8 for LTE) and continued with the advent of their 4G versions (WiMAX 2.0 based on IEEE 802.16 m and LTE-Advanced standardized...
